the first trip up to the cabin was for la's birthday. adam, christian, B, La, and I all rode together on the way up... stopping to look at track homes, explore an impressive rock wall, drink some blue moons at a bar that was SUCH a whole in the wall, and hit up the cool thrift stores. it was so nice to get to hang out and just do whatever we wanted ( being a parent, i really dont get to do that very often so i was stoked!)
The first night was rad... playing the wii, drinking, laughing, sledding, more drinking, and then going out for a little night hike. Brandon led a group of us through the snow around the cabin. we lost a few people along the way and lori and i almost gave up but we decided to keep pushing on... and thats when it got intense. i swear to god, i felt like i was Beahr Grillys on man vs wild. we were trekking up steep hills that were covered in feets of snow... crawling on our hands and knees through pine trees and bushes... sliding down the hill on our stomachs just like the penguins do... getting freaked out by a barking dog... somehow getting stuck in a pen with a horse that was fricking ginormous... and somehow managing to find our way back to the cabin. although the hike was an extreme test of my physical fitness skills, it was the raddest hike that i have EVER been on. cheers to B, la, adam, lainie, and steve for an unforgetable night hike!
the next night we had a wonderful feast complete with some yummy tofurkey, mashed potatoes, stuffin, salad, and salty vegetables ( just kidding, the veggies weren't too salty even though bridget was obsessed with the salt.. ha ha!) The feast was so delicious and it was awesome to be able to all sit down at the table together and enjoy a thanksgiving-style dinner. After din din we had some drinks and dessert and toasted the birthday girl!! good times good times. so many laughs and good memories. thanks to everyone who was there! i had the best time with you all!! Unfortunately i was retarded and didnt take any pictures. i totally brought my camera... but only used it once to capture this moment:
B is totally smoking out the window... ha ha ha!!!
and on the ride home with lainie and steve, i snapped a pic of a train:
Fortunately, i have friends with cameras... thanks to Leslie, Tara, Adam, and La for the great pictures! You guys rock!
