ready??? HIKE
clayton had been wanting to show me this "really cool pond" out in Sunol. so... me, clay, chloe & my pops ventured out for what we thought was gonna be a fun little hike. well... it was definitely fun but not so little. we hiked up a path that was pretty steep and pretty long.... but well worth it!!
chloe & g-pa do you see my family?
there was this really cool patch of cactus growing
it was a beautiful day
we came across some cows...
they were blocking the path so we took a different route...

play ball!!
opening day for little league was on saturday. team pictures, hit-a-thon, clay's first game, and a bbq were all the festivities that took place that day. for team pictures clay took a picture by himself; one with his best friend, thomas; and one with the coach, my dad. it was too cute!!
clay was a little nervous for his first game, but he did awesome! he got on base every time he was up to bat
my little catcher
and here he is on the mound... clay is definitely a natural pitcher. he struck out the first batter that he faced and didnt allow any runs. he even came back in to pitch later in the game to relieve a boy who was having a rough time. i was so proud of him!
clay had a rad time playing his first game of the season
lori and the kids came to watch clay's first game. it was so cute... all the kids were cheering clay on!! they all really look up to him because he's a "big kid." he he he. lori and i found out that the girls can start playing softball next year... um, yeah... we're stoked!!

another rad field trip... woot!
Clay's class had another field trip on Monday. this time we went to the marine science institute in redwood city. we got to spend the day on a ship and cruised around the bay. but it wasn't just a leisure cruise... the kids threw out a net and pulled in some fish, took water samples and studied the differences in the water, took some mud samples from the bottom of the bay ( using this really cool claw-thing), and looked at all the plankton on the water through microscopes. it was a great learning experience for the kids and it also educated them on the impact humans have on the San Fransisco bay. i had a great time... i really love this group of kids and Ive become pretty good friends with their awesome teacher, Becky!
here's the boys: such hams!
silly heads
chillin before boarding the ship
classroom for the day: on a ship!
best friends: clay and thomas ( he's clay's "brotha from anotha motha". ha ha ha! the boys taught me that little saying!)
a quick lesson in net-fishing
waiting to see what they caught
we caught tons of fish, including some rays and a leopard shark! i liked this little guy: he was flat and both eyes were on top of his head... definitely a bottom-dweller ha ha.
my mr. man. it was clay's first time on a ship. he's been on tons of little boats when we go to Alaska, but he's always been a little scared of going out on a big body of water like a bay or ocean . but he loved it! now i just need to convince him to go halibut fishing with me when we go to Alaska.... but the boat is a lot smaller, and the waves are a lot more intense. i know chloe would do it in a heart beat ha ha ha!Friday, March 7, 2008
he takes after his mama
clay has started his baseball season already. he's on the mets and my dad is the coach.... its pretty awesome. and the coolest part? clay wants to be a catcher... just like his mom was back in her softball days. i've already taught him a few things about the art of catching. he he he... god, i love baseball!
it was a really sunny day... can u tell? ha ha
beauty tips
"For attractive lips , speak words of kindness...
For lovely eyes , seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure share your food with the hungry,
For beautiful hair , let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day,
For poise , walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;
never throw out anyone. "
