all in a day...

went to the zoo with chloe and nana. it was such a gorgeous day and the animals were all out and about. the lions posed quite nicely for me:i love elephants' eyelashesmy favorite little guysit was feeding time for the bats. they were going nuts! ive never seen them fight so much! man, they are some cool creaturestime for a snack. me and chloe got nachos. she had to have her own because she doesn't like the "hot things mommy puts on her nachos."mmmm.... cheesy later that day the girls had soccer practice. they are so cute together... duh. they HAD to be on the same team for a little scrimmage... made me and lori think back to when we were in high school, playing basketball in PE, refusing to be on separate teams... when "the package" was born... ah, memories...found this radical spider just hanging out. everyone was so afraid of this thing. i mean, dont get me wrong, the thing was HUGE. but its a fricking spider... and i thought it was beautiful... the way it blended in perfectly with the orange autumn leaves. i swear, half the kids' practice was spent trying to "save" the spider from being killed from stupid people.

its, like, a 3 year plan

been pondering what im gonna do with myself, career-wise lately. trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up at the age of 27 is kind of difficult. and my options are some-what limited because my top priority in life is and will always be taking care of my babies. and i recently left my job at the brewery because they were buttholes and i was too positive for that place anyways. but i need money. so i was thinking i could just get another job waitressing or whatevs. but then i realized that its time to be more, to do more... something for me. ive always loved doing hair.. cutting, coloring.. ive just always had kind of a "knack" for it... so ive decided to start beauty school next year when chloe starts kindergarten... god, just thinking that chloe is starting regular school next year makes me wanna cry. anyways, so yeah, beauty school next year. but i need money NOW!!! so i got a job. today. i am now an employee of the pleasanton unified school district. woot! my job description is a noon-supervisor... but in reality, im a yard-duty. seriously. ha ha ha. i remember the yard duties when i went to school and they were NOTHING like me... old, cranky hags with really bad wigs who blew their whistles at EVERYTHING and walked around wearing fanny packs.... i told clay that i'll be working at his school now. he's stoked! i guess im a pretty cool mom if my son is excited that i'll be seeing him everyday at school. so there it is: my 3-year plan. go me!

trolls!!

up in the attic yesterday i spotted a small box with my name on it... it was spelled " Jenny" so i knew it must be relatively old since i havent spelled my name like that since i was 13. so i opened up the box and saw tiny poofs of different colored hair... hmm. then i saw their great big eyeballs and i knew i had just stumbled upon my old troll collection! i was stoked. these little guys are so rad. so... being the total nerd that i am, i took pictures of my small collection of trolls. here they are:

making cookies with Nana

chloe helped her Nana make some chocolate chip cookies today. i think they made enough for an army!! ha ha ha. cookies anyone?

the great dish debate

okay. i have these dishes. see picture below. they're pfaltzcraft and i love them. but i dont use them. they were a wedding present and they've been sitting in my attic for over 3 years now. my mom has her own set of dishes that we use so there really is no use for mine... even though mine are WAY cooler. anyways, i remembered about my packed-away dishes and offered them to lori. i figured that she could get some use out of them and im just a giving person... one of my more appealing virgo qualities... so... i showed her what they looked like and she wanted them. i told my mom that i needed to get them down from the attic so i could give them to la. mom said no. i told her they were my frickin dishes and i could give them to whoever i wanted. she said that if i wanted to sell them then that was fine but i couldnt just give them away.


so i got the dishes down from the attic today. my grandma is here visiting and she told me that my dishes were beautiful and i should keep them until i get married again... "you're such a pretty, young girl, jeni," she told me. "i'm sure you'll meet that man and get married again someday." um... what? what the hell is wrong with my family? my mom wont let me give my dishes to my best friend and now my grandma is telling me to save my dishes for marriage? what the fuck is going on with the females in my family?!?!? well, i gently broke it to my grandma that i dont plan on getting married again.... ever. well, grandma is a bit old-fashioned so we dont exactly see eye-to-eye on the whole "marriage" thing.... so we had a little conversation about our views on marriage and the whole time we were talking i was just thinking to myself..."what the fuck does ANY of this have to do with my gaddamn dishes?"


alas, i am in a dilemma... what to do with my dishes... give them away, sell them, or simply hang on to them until i get "married" (which in my mind means until the kids and i get a place of our own)???

a family trip to the punkin patch

took a trip out to Lathrop and visited our favorite pumpkin patch: Dell Osso Farms http://www.pumpkinmaze.com/ its a pretty rad place. its got a HUGE corn maze and tons of other fun halloween stuff. the kids had a really good time. here's me and clay panning for gold. well, actually... we paid $5 for a bag of dirt that already had gems and rocks in it, sifted it in the water for a little bit, and got some pretty cool looking stones!

i told chloe she could either ride a pony or a big horse. i was a little nervous about the big horse but i thought she'd just want to ride a cute little pony. nope. not my daughter. she had to ride the biggest freaking horse they had. i seriously thought she was going to fall off. i walked right by her side. she kept telling me: " look, mommy. im riding the big horse! i'm on the BIG horse!" she was so excited... i was excited that she didnt fall off. seriously.
